TUNNEL PROJECTS

Over the past few months, we have mobilised several of our specialist brickwork teams working across the Southeast delivering exceptional work across 6 key tunnel projects, demonstrating our skill, dedication, and meticulous planning to these types of work packages.

During weekend possessions our teams have completed over 50 square meters of temporary work brickwork recasement, alongside over 100 meters of repointing, coupled with 20–30 meters of stitching fracture repairs. We also recently delivered a 7-day blockade for our client, where our teams worked round the clock to complete the scope in full and on time.

As with many projects within tunnels on the railway, access isn’t always at the tunnel portal and requires careful management and procurement to ensure that we have enough operatives for these works, along with key things like track trolleys to enable us to get materials and plant to and from the work site.

If you’ve worked in these environments, you will appreciate the effort that goes into pushing a track trolley loaded correctly with bricks, cement, sand, access towers, generators, fuel and more. It wasn’t uncommon for our operatives on site during these recent projects to have walked miles whilst still carrying out their duties.

With many work sites often incorporating other stake holders carrying out simultaneous works our Site Managers and Safety Critical Staff work tirelessly to ensure that everyone remains safe inside and outside their working zones, segregation and containment of materials and a tidy work site all go a long way to keeping everyone safe.
