Having studied at Canterbury Collage, where I gained my City & Guilds Level 3 in carpentry, I soon went on to work on civil projects, where I obtained my NVQ Level 2 in formwork. For over ten years, I have worked on various civil projects up and down the country and in Australia. I obtained my PTS with AW Rail in 2015 for additional income to help fund my wedding and a further trip around the world. When I returned to the UK, I reobtained my PTS along with further safety critical tickets, COSS, Site Warden, Site Lookout, and Level B 3rd Rail Isolation, and have been fortunate enough to join the AW Rail team permanently since 2019, currently as Project Manager.
Managing a wide variety of worksites, ensuring health and safety protocols are followed, and making sure work is conducted to the highest standard and delivered on time. Regularly visit new sites to assist with tendering for future works and liaising with clients old and new. It is also great to work within a tight-knit team in the office to ensure all jobs are manned correctly and projects are delivered on time and safely. As AW Rail grows, I am also instrumental in helping recruit new skilled workers to the company and attending railway events to further grow the AW brand across the UK.
During 2023, I will have attained the following qualifications to further my knowledge within the industry:
APM Project Fundamentals Qualification.
IOSH: Managing Safely Qualified.
NVQ Level 6: Construction Management.
I am currently studying to become a member of the Association of Project Management (APM) by spring 2024.
In June 2024 I am taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge with some of the team here at AW Group.
