AW RAIL – YARD ASSISTANT VACANCY

We prioritise safety, quality, and adherence to industry standards to ensure reliable and efficient rail services.
We are seeking a dedicated Yard Assistant to join our team in Folkestone. Based at our rail yard, this role is vital in supporting our infrastructure projects through materials handling, equipment operation, and maintaining a safe work environment. Your contribution will help us uphold our commitment to safety and excellence in rail services.
Responsibilities
- Assist with loading and unloading materials and equipment.
- Ensure all safety protocols are followed during yard operations.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the yard area.
- Support civil and construction teams with logistical needs.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Collaborate with team members to meet project deadlines efficiently.
Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to yard operations.
- Mechanical aptitude or understanding of construction equipment is preferred.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely.
- Good communication skills and team-oriented attitude.
- Prior experience in rail or civil construction environments is advantageous.
- Telehandler experience preferred but we will consider training for the right applicant.
