PROJECT OVERVIEW

Another great project competed at The Ashford Designer Outlet. This time our task was to take one larger unit and divide it into two separate units. We are receiving more and more requests for projects of this nature where landlords are capturing new clients by offering smaller retail spaces within their sites.

Given our knowledge of the site we completed the works on time and within budget. A small amount of strip out work was required to remove the existing storage system, flooring and making safe the incoming services so that they could be subdivided.

In brief the works carried out:

Separate all services such as electric, HVAC & sprinklers into two separate supplies for the two separate units
Strip out existing partition walls
Remove existing racking
Install a new division partion – 2-hour fire wall
Remove all floor coverings
Install a new flooring were required
Create a new self-contained storage area
Revamp communal areas with hold back fire doors, CCTV, floor latex & foyer vinyl lining
Dig out and install new water/waste drainage to existing mains

All the works completed by our inhouse teams who really do know the finer workings of this site now. Hand over to the new tenants for their own fitout contractors to complete.

I truly have appreciated the commitment that the teams have shown to the multiple projects that we have undertaken over the years. Importantly I wanted to acknowledge the accomplishments and quality of work that has taken place in the Centre and on our charity project to build a library for the local school in Ashford. In 2021 our team at Ashford Designer Outlet partnered with AW Construction to help build a new library at the local school, The John Wallis Academy. The new library holds over 10,000 books for the 400 students at the Academy’s lower school to explore and enjoy. Overall, fantastic show of a joint collaborative approach. Projects have always been carried out efficiently and timely, from retail store works to Centre enhancements. The AW team have managed each task extremely well and to the budgets agreed previously with no question to return for last minute improvements. Challenges would be dealt with professionally by offering solutions, and detail transparency in associated costs. I continue to look forward to developing our relationship and working together in the future.
