Daphne Oram Creative Arts Building
During the summer of 2023 we were commissioned to make some vital alterations to the music studios contained within the Creative Arts Building. This included the careful; removal of the exisiting acoustic tiling, carefully storing and numbering in sequence so that the refit process would be quicker and easier.
The exisiting HVAC system ducting was then altered and replaced in part, new extensions to the system added along with electrical works. Completing the works with redecoration to some of the rooms and a final commissioning of the new system.
We are:
- Removing all services from ceilings
- Removing acoustic ceiling panels
- Associated MF grid removed.
- Double layer plasterboard ceilings removed.
- Removal of suspended ceilings
- Installation of new ventilation
- Reinstatement of everything removed.
- Acoustic sealing between rooms
- Reinstate services.
- Minor decorations
We managed a careful site set up to protect the polished concrete flooring with layers of Correx sheets, to allow us better site ingress and egress through the main reception doors. Extra protection had to be put in place to protect the glass viewing windows which show off the remains of St Augustine’s Abbey precinct wall within the main reception flooring area which was discovered during the preliminary site investigations when the building was first proposed.
All works completed on time and to budget.
