We have been working on the university campus at Christ Church for well over two years now and we are always happy to jump in, roll up our sleeves and accommodate works of varying scopes.
Occasionally you do get asked to assist with something a little out of the ordinary and early on an October morning we were tasked with the delivery and siting of the universities new forensic labs!
These containers can be set up inside to represent crime scene scenarios for students to carry out investigations as part of their studies in Applied Criminology and Forensic Investigation.
Normally, this would be an easy project to undertake but given the restricted access to the eventual site for these cabins, along with several historic buildings that have stood the test of time we had to navigate past, some hedges and of course a busy university campus, a road closure was put in place. Our contracted hauliers brand new 40 tonne flatbed Hiab, along with driver and banksman, completed the task with ease.
Careful planning with the university’s estates team had seen the original time period for this movement allocated several weeks in advance, but with the collaboration of all involved we managed to finish this movement 4 hours ahead of schedule and re-open the road for all users.
Hopefully, we will get invited along to see a crime scene in action and learn a little more from one of the many coursers that are taught at Christ Church Canterbury. In the meantime, enjoy some lovely photos of the sun rising over the campus at Canterbury early on an October morning.
