SCREWFIX

AW Construction were brought in to convert an existing children’s play centre into a brand-new Screwfix store in Fratton, Portsmouth.

The project started with the strip out of the existing fixtures both internally and externally from the previous tenant, back to bare walls so that the new Screwfix store could be fitted out from scratch. This included the safe removal of a mezzanine floor area with associated supporting structural elements, removing walls, ceilings, ventilation ducting and sanitary ware.

The refit works were numerous as several individual rooms had to be created for offices, welfare facilities, trade counter and the storage facility back of house.

Additionally various works were carried out externally to the facility creating new parking areas, installing crash barriers and disabled access ramps, small retaining walls and additional signage.

This project was a great success, which was completed well within the scope of time allocated.
