Community engagement plays a vital part in our day to day operations across the AW Group. We are always keen to see how we can engage with local groups and organisations where we carry out the numerous works we undertake.

AW Rail completed works on the rail-road bridge here at Shepherdswell earlier this year and the local Scout & Guide troop asked if they could have some of the waste timber from the project to make some benches for use during their activities here in the village, but also to be used for other activities that take place within the village.

The timber supplied was crafted into 6 benches, designed by the Scouts & Guides over the Coronation weekend, overseen by many local trades professionals who gave up their Bank Holiday Monday to assist.

We are always happy to start conversations with other local community groups/organisations to see if we can help with material removed from construction projects and other materials we accumulate during our working practices.

Over the past months we have been amazed at what different people see in the usefulness of items we would generally regard as rubbish!
