Here at AW Group we are always looking at ways to connect with the local community and recently we hosted a work experience day for some students (and staff!) from Folkestone Academy.

Starting off with a careers type talk to explain what we do here across the construction and rail sectors, a quick safety briefing and then hands on experience revitalising our picnic benches which our staff use on sunny days here in Folkestone, yes, we do occasionally get those!

Not only this but replanting our reclaimed wooden planters with flowers to attract insects and other pollinators.

It was a great enthusiastic group who had many questions about working in the construction industry. Thanks to all the staff who helped organise this work experience opportunity and for coming along and helping as well.

Thanks also to Wood Finishers Direct here in Folkestone for supplying the wood preservative, much appreciated.
