AW RAIL – SAFETY STAND DOWN DAY
AW Rail – Safety Stand Down Day
As our workforce continues to grow it is essential that we make sure those working for us understand the conditions and environments they are working in.
Last week we had a stand down day here in Folkestone, where a large majority of our teams came together to hear about the latest safety updates, company news and other subjects promoting good working practices. It also gives our teams a chance to discuss openly other matters arising from working within the rail environments that we undertake projects in.
We’d like to thank Jason Stokes for taking the lead on the topics discussed and bringing the day together and to all those who contributed. We had lots to talk about!
- General Health and Safety updates including the latest safety bulletins
- HAVS as a general topic
- Driving/Vehicle Checks and winter driving awareness
- Network Rails Life Saving Rules
- Mental health awareness & speaking up
- Training and Refresher courses for all
Our project managers and site managers will be taking the topics discussed out on the road and visiting our teams on site for those that were unable to make it due to client requirements.
Promoting awareness and education about the importance of safety in the railway industry is something that no one person can dictate, and a collaborative approach between our clients, our staff and the governing industry bodies is crucial to ensure that views are heard, acted upon and that no matter what role you play in maintaining the UK’s rail infrastructure…. Everyone is Home Safe, Every Day!
AW Rail Services have been delivering rail projects for several years right across the Rail & Construction sector.
Our extensive rail experience of over 120 years, combining decades of hands-on knowledge, providing building enhancements and maintenance solutions, improving infrastructure for passengers and operators, delivering major projects, and fulfilling long-term maintenance contracts really sets us apart.
Our services are varied from structural maintenance on tunnels, bridges, foot crossings, signal gantries, to station refurbishment, platform enhancements, civils works on and around the track, the mechanism management of lineside vegetation and further afield, painting of all types of structures and lastly but perhaps most importantly the provision of rail labour, not only supporting the projects we carry out for our projects but for the provision of labour to other clients.
