We would like to thank everyone in the local community who recently got in touch with us regarding surplus waste materials at our yard and how you could reuse this within your own projects and organisations.  Not only were we able to clear most of the timber surplus last week but a happy band of volunteers also attended to help us tidy up – what a great community we have here in Folkestone!

Last week we saw timber going to several local organisations including Hawkinge Men’s Shed, along with timber we have been saving all our surplus bricks up over the year and were able to find the prefect use for these at EKC here in Folkestone – we hope the students studying bricklaying will put them to good use.

The items that this surplus material gets made into is always impressive, from community compost bins, staging in greenhouses, wooden benches for community use, bird boxes, repairs to doors, windows, the list goes on.
