AW GROUP – EKC – BIRD BOXES
AW Group – EKC Folkestone – Bird Boxes
Many thanks to the students and staff at EKC here in Folkestone for their continued support in our recycling of timber. This time round they have made a wide range of bird boxes from timber recycled from the various rail and construction projects we work on.
These bird boxes will now be sited on various projects across Kent and London, either by the trackside where we have had to remove vegetation to allow for structural repairs or to encourage nature and a wider range of biodiversity in areas that have seen neglect in the past few years.
We hope that the students found this a useful addition to their learning syllabus and enjoyed being part of our sustainability and environmental drive. We’d like to thank Heather Williams, Industry Liaison Officer at EKC and Nik Weakley, Deputy Head of Built Environment here in Folkestone for the support and ongoing collaboration.
Our timber recycling initiatives continue to gather momentum and we are always looking to engage with schools, colleges, charities, community organisations and more to see how we can supply timber removed from construction and rail projects back into reuse locally and across the project areas that we work in.
