AW RAIL – JOB VACANCY – QS/ESTIMATOR
AW Rail Services is a growing business operating predominantly in the railway sector specialising in arch and viaduct brickwork repairs but also undertaking a wide range of small-scale lineside civils works (concrete floor slabs, drainage, access points, etc).
Our requirement:
We are seeking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to support our continued growth as a company and also to bolster the experience and knowledge within our existing commercial team. We are looking for a candidate that is able to estimate and put together project bids together with the financial management of on-going projects from commencement to completion. Project values vary from £5,000 – £1m.
You will be comfortable attending site and Teams meetings with clients, undertaking site surveys and valuations, completing take-offs from drawings, producing interim and final account applications for payment, producing and reporting on monthly CVR’s and handing over contracts to our delivery teams on the make-up of tenders to enable them to manage and enhance the commercial and operational elements of a project.
About our ideal candidate:
- You have excellent commercial acumen
- You have a proven track record in commercial or quantity surveying – 5+ years’ experience minimum
- You have the ability to quickly and correctly understand scopes of work and project requirements
- You are proactive and have excellent time management skills
- You are comfortable working alone or as part of a team as required
- You remain calm and calculated under pressure
- You are an excellent communicator
- Excellent practical knowledge of common IT packages, mainly Excel, MS Word, and use of email
- Full and clean driving licence
- Experience in Railway sector preferred
