AW CONSTRUCTION – DDC TENDER WIN
Dover District Council (DDC) Repointing and Associated Repairs Contract
Yet another great tender win for the AW Construction team and another client to add to our growing list of Social Housing / Local Authority works programmes.
Our dedicated Project Manager will be overseeing these works which include, but are not limited to:
- Surveying of various housing stock across the region (flats/HMO/houses) with clients representative
- Agree measures to erect scaffolding and carry out raking out and repointing to nominated properties using approved/specialist mechanical/electrical repointing system along with associated repairs/replacement to rainwater goods, brickwork.
- Carry out wall tie survey (engaging specialist company) and action to replace missing wall ties with Install austenitic stainless steel remedial wall ties with a resin fix as per manufacturers recommendations
- If required cut out bricks for access into cavity, clear blockages including up to 0.5m from the opening in any direction, remove waste and debris, reinstate and make good cavity insulation to match existing as necessary, clean and replace bricks bed and point in cement lime mortar (1:1:6) to match existing.
- Sealant to all doors/windows
With these types of projects, we will be working closely with the client, as well as the residents due to the specific requirements set out in the tender, and especially due to the noise/dust created by the repointing works and mitigating the effects of this as much as possible.
