AW Group – Recycle Week 2024 – “Rescue Me”

This week we are acknowledging and helping to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and encourage individuals, communities and organisations to take action in helping to reduce waste and promote sustainability.

Let’s remind ourselves on the positive impact that recycling has on the environment and encourage everyone to make recycling a part of their daily lives. No-one on there own is going to solve the environmental crisis that we face globally; by working collaboratively we can all play a small part and contribute to environmental conservation efforts.

This year’s theme is “Rescue Me” something which is very much at the heart of our recycling efforts here at AW Group. We have rescued and put back into the local community and economy tonnes of materials, often saving small charities, organisations and even schools/colleges, hundreds, if not thousands of pounds.

We’ve certainly embraced the “Reduce, Reuse, Recycle” mantra and our many recycling projects have gained quite the following, but there is more that we can do, as is the case for so many. You can view a small taster of our projects and recycling initiatives here: Recycling Case Studies

We’d be delighted to hear about your recycling efforts and projects, everyday is a school day and we’re keen to learn more about recycling and sustainable practices not only in the rail and construction industry but further afield.

Please do reach out to us, you might be surprised at the materials we accumulate from our activities, we certainly reuse more these days, but as they say, “one person’s trash is another person’s treasure”, and more often than not we’ve be astounded by what people have made second use of, recycled, upcycled from our many waste streams.
