AW RAIL – SOUTHERN RENEWALS ENTERPRISE CHRISTMAS TOY COLLECTION
Here at AW Rail, we carry out a wide range of works for clients under the Southern Renewals Enterprise and were recently contacted by the SRE Social Value Team requesting gifts for children in hospital over the Christmas period across the Southern region.
At AW Rail, we commit a certain percentage of our yearly budget to supporting charities locally to us here in Folkestone, often charities that support minority groups and children, especially at this time of year.
We did contact a specialist delivery team to see if they could deliver but their resourcing manager told us that that team had already been booked out for December by a chap with a bushy beard and red coat?!
So, on a rather bright blue sky and sunshine kind of Friday morning, ahead of Storm Darragh we loaded up one of our AW Rail vehicles and our staff delivered approx. £500 worth of various children’s toys, books, art supplies, toiletries and more in the hope that they will brighten up a child’s day over the Christmas period in hospital.
Many thanks to Rachel Colyer at Volker’s office Tonbridge for accepting these on behalf of SRE and AW Rail. We hope these along with all the other donations across the region will bring a smile to the face of a child in hospital this Christmas.
AW Rail Services have been delivering rail projects for several years right across the Rail & Construction sector.
Our extensive rail experience of over 120 years, combining decades of hands-on knowledge, providing building enhancements and maintenance solutions, improving infrastructure for passengers and operators, delivering major projects, and fulfilling long-term maintenance contracts really sets us apart.
Our services are varied from structural maintenance on tunnels, bridges, foot crossings, signal gantries, to station refurbishment, platform enhancements, civils works on and around the track, the mechanism management of lineside vegetation and further afield, painting of all types of structures and lastly but perhaps most importantly the provision of rail labour, not only supporting the projects we carry out for our projects but for the provision of labour to other clients.
