AW GROUP – PILGRIMS HOSPICES STORE ROOM
Having supplied all manner of waste and surplus materials to a diverse range of organisations it’s good to know that it helps fund projects that would otherwise not be financially viable, and time and time again we are told this as part of our engagement talks with those that we help.
We’ve donated all sorts of materials to Pilgrims Hospices over the year so far and their creative maintenance team have used these materials to support their hospices and shops across Kent.
Recently they supplied us with some photos of a lockable store room that they were able to construct off the back of some donated materials. The maintenance team were able to build a stud wall from recycled timber and use some surplus vinyl tiles for new flooring cover.
With the reuse of some existing racking and minimal spend on cladding the result is a secure storage area for their materials.
If we can help reduce the costs of maintenance project across the hospices, we hope that funds can be better placed in the support and care of those using the facilities.
Recycling timber also aligns with Pilgrims Hospices’ ethos of community involvement. Local volunteers or craft groups could contribute to upcycling efforts, fostering engagement and purpose. Donated materials from businesses such as AW Group or individuals can lower costs while strengthening community ties.
Ultimately, integrating recycled timber into Pilgrims Hospices combines environmental responsibility with compassionate care. It showcases both ours and their commitment to sustainability while creating meaningful, comforting spaces for patients, families, and staff alike.
