AW Rail – RIN London 2026 Update and Support from AIMREC

At AW Rail, we’re proud to work alongside a wide range of charities and community organisations, sharing surplus and recovered materials from our projects so they can be reused in creative and practical ways. What might be considered waste on a construction site can often become a valuable resource for organisations that are doing remarkable work in their communities.

By building genuine relationships and keeping the conversation going about how we can support one another, these interactions often grow into meaningful partnerships. It’s always rewarding to see how a simple exchange can lead to something far more collaborative.

One such partnership is with AIMREC, based near Ashford in Kent who we have supplied a wide range of recovered construction materials from our projects across Kent and London. . Following a conversation about the work we carry out across the rail network, Fred and his team kindly created an impressive scale diorama illustrating a cross-section of the types of structures we work on at AW Rail.

Using surplus bits and pieces from their workshop and exhibition rooms, they produced a detailed and engaging model that captures elements such as arches, tunnels, signal gantries and other structures we encounter in the rail environment. We’d like to extend our thanks to Fred and the AIMREC team for the skill and creativity that went into bringing it to life.

The model made its debut at RIN London 2026, the first networking event in this year’s programme hosted by RIN Events. Unsurprisingly, with a room full of rail enthusiasts, the diorama proved to be a real highlight. It provided a great visual talking point and a simple way to explain the type of work AW Rail carries out across the network.

Happily, the model survived its rail journey from our HQ in Folkestone to London St Pancras intact – thanks to the careful hands of our team who transported it to the event.

A big thank you to everyone who visited our stand at RIN London. It was great to connect with so many people across the industry, and we look forward to continuing those conversations with suppliers, partners and clients in the weeks ahead.
