Canterbury City Council – Disabled Adaptations
AW Construction Services were successfully awarded the contract by Canterbury City Council for the refurbishment of tenanted property for disabled adaptions starting in December 2021 with the initial framework running for 3 years. We are going to be busy!
These works are to consist of the strip out of existing bathrooms and to re-install level access shower units and associated sanitary wear, new radiators, electric shower units, grab rails, ventilation and heating, upgrades to electrics as appropriate, slip resistant waterproof flooring and general decorating services, effectively creating a wet room.
Our Project Manager and Tenant Liaison Officer were briefed to liaise with each tenant to assess their individual care needs during the refurbishment of their property.
Our works team and appointed Tenant Liaison Officer have in depth experience of working with vulnerable people and provided clear and concise information to the tenants at every stage of the refurbishment. All the team involved carry DBS Certification and are Safeguard trained.
By using our own work force, local tradespeople and purchasing materials from local companies we aim to keep the disruption to a minimum for each tenant.
The works we have completed to date have been highly valued by the tenants and our workforce has been complimented on their professional approach to each project.
We have received a number of great testimonials from tenants we have completed works for on behalf of Canterbury City Council.
