Dartford Blockade – supporting clients during this 9 day closure all part of a strategic upgrade in this area:
REDEC
During the recent Dartford Blockade, AW Rail supported our client, REDEC, by providing experienced Site COSSs and skilled operatives to undertake the preparation and painting of lighting columns and station walls at Greenhithe and Stone Crossing.
The scope of works included thorough surface preparation to ensure a durable, high-quality finish. This involved cleaning, removal of loose and defective coatings, abrasion where required, and appropriate priming prior to the application of protective paint systems. Care was taken to protect surrounding infrastructure and maintain a safe working environment within the operational railway setting.
All activities were carried out in strict accordance with site safety requirements, with COSS leadership ensuring full compliance with railway standards and effective coordination of personnel throughout the works.
Fuse Rail
Alongside REDEC we also supported Fuse Rail, by providing skilled operatives to deliver the installation of a new GRP walkway at Dartford Sidings.
The scope of works included the loading, installation, and securing of approximately 1,200 metres of GRP walkway, together with all associated fixings and handrails. The project also involved the installation of guard boarding alongside the conductor rail to enhance safety and compliance.
All works were delivered for our clients over an intensive eight-day programme, utilising consecutive day and night shifts to ensure successful and timely completion within the blockade period.
