We have recently completed another project for our client at FHDC for the external repairs and redecoration to a small block of flats just down the road from our Folkestone HQ in Sandgate.
Given the location (for those that know Sandgate) this project did through up a few challenges, not least the great British weather delaying works and the narrow streets around Sandgate.
The main scope of works consisted of:
- Render Repairs
- Lintel replacement/repairs
- Replacement of existing gutters with deepflow gutters
- Replacement of Fascias
- Full render of two blocks of flats
Our Project Manager ensured that not only the residents of the properties were made aware of the work being carried out but neighbours as well to mitigate any inconvenience whilst these works were carried out. Keeping the site clean and adding extra protection to the scaffold to prevent paint splatter/over brushing from escaping confines of the works are due to wind and other circumstances.
The team that carried out this programme of works were all very local to the work site and we made sure that all materials were sourced locally, delivered to our stores as to reduce the amount of vehicle movements within the work site area, especially in an area that is sensitive to traffic.
We finally completed the works hours ahead of Storm Eowyn hitting the south coast in January. Currently we are completing a wide variety of similar projects for our client along with a number of other works packages from other Social Housing providers.
