JERZY KRZYSZKA

In January 2025 I joined the AW Rail team as an apprentice QS and have already been involved with several projects shadowing different members of the team to see the full life cycle of a project, I’m looking forward to developing my skills and contributing to the team over the coming months.

I decided to do an apprenticeship in Quantity Surveying as I enjoyed what I saw when I did during my work experience here at AW Rail in July 2023 whilst I was at school. I looked at other careers after my work experience and didn’t really like the look of them compared to quantity surveying.

For my university course, I complete it online through a company called Skill4Stem, they provide the course as well as lectures, seminars and assignments just like any other university, the only difference is that I get on the job experience while working at AW Rail, so I can put what I’ve learned to the test rather than having to wait till the end of my course to then seek a job to put it into action.

Looking towards the future, I would like to complete the apprenticeship then work my way up to be a full Quantity Surveyor at AW Rail and be tackling one of the larger projects that AW rail get involved with for a wide variety of clients.
