AW RAIL – BLACKHEATH STATION CANOPY REFURBISHMENTS
Blackheath Station Canopy – Refurbishment Works Update
Sunday 26th January, WK44 Possession and our teams from AW Rail Services were back at Blackheath Station over this weekend, undertaking the installation of platform canopy guttering and downpipes.
This is a project that started back in August 2024, and to date we have successfully installed a new pitched canopy glazing system to all platforms, replaced the shiplap cladding to the station overbridge, bought back to life several timber framed windows and replaced the platform canopy daggerboards and guttering.
As soon as the weather improves, we will be back to continue the preparation and painting of the canopy structural steel to comply with NR/L2/CIV/039 and NR/L2/CIV/040.
We have had some positive feedback from neighbours living close to the station who have commented on the visual improvements to Blackheath, some of whom have lived next to station for decades!
