TOM LOCKE

With over 20 years’ experience within the construction sector, I have successfully steered AW Construction to win and successfully deliver projects across a wide range of sectors throughout the UK including retail, leisure, hospitality, banking, industrial and education.

Having started out providing short term labour to the rail industry, I developed the knowledge to be able to mobilise teams of tradespeople, at very short notice, at multiple locations. This transferred perfectly to the shop fitting sector, and other sectors thereafter

I like to oversee all the projects my team manage giving me a hands-on approach to helping them resolve any issues that may arise, learn new construction techniques and practices, and keep updated to changes in Health & Safety law.

I am a firm believer in building strong, trusting relationships with clients and colleagues to help push the business forward, alongside a team of great people who are proud of the work they do, this has seen us win repeat business from existing clients and introduced new clients to the growing portfolio here at AW.

Outside of running a busy construction company I am an active member of Hythe Cricket and Squash Slub, sit on the committee and help drive the development and expansion of the club, along with sponsorship and taking part in local and national events.

A keen road cyclist with a desire to ride faster than I am capable fueling this ability with a passion for cooking – where I am a practitioner of nose to tail eating with a deep rooted desire to eradicate food waste, even if that means eating others’ one month old lasagne!

In June 2024 I am taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge with some of the team here at AW Group.
