Another very well attended event for Upcycle Your Waste, this time in the heart of Canterbury. Great to see so many new and old faces wanting to get involved and to nurture the change in thinking about waste streams, a subject very much at the heart of all who work at AW Group, thanks to Greg Mckenzie, our upcycling champion for attending another event and engaging with the wider business community.

Theses events focus on putting together people and companies to explore how they could re-use waste produced by them and use within their own organisations – Upcycle Your Waste.

The breakout groups also provided an opportunity to network as well, discuss what waste people are needing to upcycle/recycle and the business sector they are in for possible future collaboration. You never know what waste streams are available until you attend an event like this, certainly provided a few people with food for thought, or in this case sawdust?!

Also, nice to know what we are doing at AW Group with our waste initiatives is being recognised across the wider business community and inspiring others to follow with their own projects following in the Upcycle Your Waste footsteps.

We look forward to supporting this initiative as it grows throughout Kent and nurturing new partnerships and collaborations with other like mined businesses. We are very much open to speaking with other companies and organisations about the waste streams we have available for upcycling. It’s not just about business to business, and we are currently looking at how we could supply some of the material removed from our construction projects to schools and colleges and other educational establishments to help with course work and further reduce their costs.

Our Wood Recycling Project has proven a great talking point at these events and has been the subject of a number of case studies. We shall be utilising this scheme in ongoing projects for our clients, increasing their awareness of how important it is to upcycle your waste and providing them and us a better road map to “Zero to Landfill”
