I have worked in the residential and commercial property lettings sector for many years, covering property management, reactive and planned maintenance, marketing, and business development. I decided that a career change in 2021 was in order and went to work for the Home Office covering specialist assignments for Border Force/HMRC just as the COVID pandemic hit and suddenly found myself out of work.
I was lucky enough to secure a position within AW, creating content and capturing photographic evidence for their marketing and promotional activities across the many services they provide for the rail and construction sectors.
With sustainability and social value playing an integral part of the projects we undertake, I was given the opportunity to take the lead in AW Group’s sustainability, upcycling, social value, and CSR accreditation initiatives. Supporting the companies at networking events and becoming active members of the Kent Construction Focus Group, the Rail Industry Forum, and more.
Over the years, I’ve been lucky enough to be able to photograph some iconic structures and buildings here in the UK and across Europe, and I worked as a photographic surveyor for a global insurance company. Some have been saved, some have been repurposed, with Battersea Power Station being a firm favourite, but many have been demolished to make way for the rush of 21st century life and living.
I’ve been involved in many great volunteering and fund-raising opportunities over the years, including playing a vital role in the COVID pandemic as a NHS First Responder, volunteering days at various heritage projects, the Big Bike Revival, and teaching local Scouts and Guides outdoor pursuits. In June 2024 along with a dozen of my work colleagues we are taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge – 24 hrs of pain and laughs!
I’m a keen mountain biker, and I combine this with my love of outdoor photography, exploring some of the wilder spots in the UK.
