From a young age I wanted to know how things worked and generally being practical. Building contraptions and taking things to pieces. Upon leaving school at 16 I studied engineering which lead me to work at Seeboard, the electricity provider.

2 years later I left and started on what was to be a 22 year career in travel giving me the opportunity to develop skills like crisis management, contracting and product development. I also got the chance to see a lot of the world.

Throughout my travels I always approached my work methodically and with a logic that was installed in me as an engineer so when my time came to leave travel, I took up a position as Project Manager for a Principal Construction company. It was a steep learning curve teaching myself from the ground up and the challenges came fast, every day was an opportunity to learn something new and develop myself. From planning to handover and everything in between, working closely with colleagues, sub-contractors and clients to deliver a broad range of projects including luxury flats and a £1.4 million barn conversion to the regeneration of an iconic local building, sympathetically restored after 15 years of neglect in to 18 high quality apartments.

At AW Construction I now draw on all my experiences across both industries, working closely with the team to support the growth and diversification of the business into new disciplines, implementing new processes. I am back doing what I love, learning and using that knowledge to the benefit the business and its continued success.

In June 2024 I am taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge with some of the team here at AW Group.
